Reston, VA, June 1, 2015 – WashingtonFirst Youth Foundation hosted it’s 2015 Golf Invitational to benefit Inova Children’s Hospital, specifically the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program. The event took place at Westwood Country Club in Vienna, Virginia, where over 170 participants and guests contributed to the Inova Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program.
Shaza Andersen, Founder of the WashingtonFirst Youth Foundation and CEO of WashingtonFirst Bank, stated, “I am so proud of those who supported this cause. They are supporting local children with life-threatening diseases who are among the most vulnerable. Their generosity, both tangible and intangible, enabled us to provide needed support to the Inova Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program.”
Bill Reilly of Champion Title and Settlements served as Chair for the event and master of ceremonies. Knox Singleton, CEO of INOVA Health System, shared remarks about recently announced plans for Inova’s center for genomics and personalized medicine and the potential for cures.
Mr. Singleton stated, “We are so thankful to WashingtonFirst Youth Foundation for holding this event in support of our work with pediatric cancer care. Efforts like this are invaluable in helping us provide effective treatment and support for children and their families.”
Plans are in the works for next year’s Golf Invitational, scheduled for May 23, 2016, at Westwood Country Club, Vienna, VA.
