Puttin on the Ritz

Small But Mighty WashingtonFirst Youth Foundation presents a $100,000 check – “Puttin on the Ritz” gala a success!

On Wednesday, March 24, 2010, WashingtonFirst Youth Foundation presented a $100,000 check to Youth For Tomorrow.

The funds were raised Saturday, March 13th, at WashingtonFirst Youth Foundation’s “Puttin’ On the Ritz” Gala at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner.   This was the first fundraising gala for WashingtonFirst Youth Foundation, founded in 2008 by Shaza Andersen.  The event was attended by 400 Washington area residents and members of the business community.  The amount of this check was kept a surprise from Youth For Tomorrow and nearly doubled the goal that had been set for the event.

Youth For Tomorrow was founded by Hall of Fame Coach Joe Gibbs in 1986 and has been led by CEO, Dr. Gary L. Jones, for the past 14 years.  Their mission is to give hope and opportunity to at-risk youth who have been abandoned, abused, or otherwise alienated from their homes and communities by providing them a safe, healthy, and compassionate residential rehabilitation program.

WashingtonFirst Youth Foundation is grateful to all of the gala attendees, sponsors, donors, and volunteers who helped make this $100,000 contribution to such a great organization possible.
